Mrs Cox said: “I support this campaign and the ban on the use of neonicotinoids in agricultural sprays, as do hundreds of my constituents. I have been inundated with emails from people who are concerned about the threat to bees and the wider implications for our wildlife, crops and food chain.”
The Government is considering an application to allow exemptions to the European ban on pesticides that are harmful to bees.
Mrs Cox added “Bees need our help. I would urge people to sign the 38 degrees petition. There’s other things people locally can do too, such as planting appropriate flowers in their garden or community spaces – lavender, buddleja, foxgloves or honeysuckle, for example.”
