MP seeks views on Prime Minister’s integration comments

Jo Cox meets guests at her women's eventBatley & Spen MP Jo Cox is inviting constituents to let her have their thoughts about the Prime Minister’s comments on integration.

The Prime Minister has been criticised for comments he made in The Times newspaper and on Radio 4’s Today programme earlier this week.

Mrs Cox said: “I think the Prime Minister should know better. He chose his words very poorly and I think he risks doing more harm than good and stigmatising Muslims, most of whom are integrated into British life.

“But I want to know what my constituents think and hope they will take a minute to fill in my feedback form.”

Jo Cox guest edits Sunday newspaper’s political column

Batley and Spen MP Jo Cox guest edited this Sunday’s political column in the People newspaper.

Mrs Cox used the opportunity to raise the issue of loneliness and the forgotten army of volunteers who help tackle it, following on from her work on the issue locally.

Mrs Cox also took issue with David Cameron’s plans to weaken the ban on fox hunting, the impact government cuts have had on flood defences and on US presidential hopeful Donald Trump.
